The $27 million Arizona Science Center is part of a $47 million downtown civic improvement by the City of Phoenix. Called the Heritage Park Projects, the development also includes the Phoenix Museum of History, the 800-vehicle Heritage and Science Park Garage, and the Heritage and Science Park Streetscape. Chanen acted as the construction manager of this important downtown Phoenix icon.
The Arizona Science Center is one of the nation's leading science museums and one of Arizona's foremost entertainment and educational facilities attracting tourists and residents.
The initial phase consists of a 127,000-sq.-ft. museum housing interactive science exhibits, a planetarium, an Iwerks special format film theater, a food court and classrooms.
