Chanen was the construction manager/general contractor for Phase I of the Cliff Castle Casino for the Yavapai-Apache Indian Community, Camp Verde, Arizona.
The ballroom of the Cliff Castle Lodge was converted into a casino housing 375 slot machines, a lounge and all of the back-of-house functions.
The facility, operated by Fitzgeralds Inc., Las Vegas, Nevada, opened ahead of schedule.
Phase II will relocate the existing restaurant and will increase the Phase I building area by 8,000 sq. ft. This will add space for 125 additional slot machines as well as table games.
Phase III will involve the construction of a $25 million destination resort adjacent to the present site. The 80,000-sq.-ft. building houses six scientists and approximately 60 staff.
