DATA PROCESSING CENTER

As general contractor, Chanen worked with the Micou Design Group to complete this $5.3 million project in only three months. To accomplish this, 10-hour-shifts were instituted primarily because of the extensive equipment placement requirements.

This project featured 30,500 sq. ft. of raised floor for data processing facilities. Sophisticated auxiliary support systems included a 2.25-megawatt uninterruptible power source (UPS) system, a 3.5-megawatt diesel generator and battery back-up for full UPS load for five minutes. The mainframe used four 3.5 terrabyte memory storage units and 96 channels for processing. An additional 10,000 sq. ft. of administrative space including teleconferencing facilities, public lobbies and executive offices support the data processing function.

Extensive pre-purchasing, intense scheduling and proactive project management were employed by Chanen to complete this most complex project in just 90 days.
