Chanen constructed this 145,000-sq.-ft. office building for the Howard Hughes Corporation in Las Vegas, Nevada. The $30 million building is located on a 15-acre site and houses a credit card processing center for Household Credit Services, Inc. (HCS). It is one of the first offices built on the 95-acre Crossing Business Center an office park being developed by Howard Hughes Properties.
A large security guard station was designed to not hinder the open and bright atrium entrance. The facility has a complex data processing system, a spacious employee cafeteria and workout facility. The building can accommodate up to 1,400 employees.
The project was completed on time and under the guaranteed maximum price with early partial occupancy available to HCS.
The project was built in an area that was formerly used to test missiles. Howard Hughes saw the vision in the 1950's in an upscale Las Vegas area known as Summerlin.
