Chanen was the CM at Risk for the Barrel Student Center at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.

This 13,000-sq.-ft. facility houses the administrative offices for the Student Services group of University employees as well as recreational areas for students living on campus. It includes recently remodeled Admissions and Business Affairs offices. Amenities include conference rooms, weight training, exercise/athletic equipment and a multipurpose vendateria and patio area. By providing this facility for relaxation in a separate building the University has maintained the study atmosphere of the classroom buildings.
