A Chanen joint venture was selected by Swift Aviation Services to provide construction management services for its $14 million project at Sky Harbor International Airport.
The expansion included a new two-story administration building, two aircraft hangars, an Air-Evac office, fuel farm, shade canopy and an apron. The hangars were pre-engineered and totaled almost 70,000-square-feet; one provides storage while the other serves as a maintenance facility. The pre-engineered Air-Evac office is nearly 13,500-sq-ft. The apron is a combination of concrete and asphalt, making it more stable and less vulnerable to the extremes of heat and monsoon cooling of the Arizona summer.

The shade canopy is supported by just 4 pillars. Upon completion (2003), it was the largest shade structure of its type in the US.
