A Chanen joint venture was chosen to be the construction manager for the 161st Aerial Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard facility as a part of the construction of a third runway for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Since the current facility is in the path of the new runway, it was necessary to relocate the ANG. The project involves the construction of 16 separate buildings including a steel aircraft maintenance hangar and approximately $21 million in general site work. Building, site and utility demolition; construction of apron and connecting taxiways and utilities are also part of this portion of the project.
Major project architects/engineers include: The Benham Group, Lawrence Enyart Architects, Argus Consulting, Ganos Associates Architects, Smith Group, ADM Group, Harding Lawson Associates, Schneider Gadbery Shay + Partners Architects, Parsons Brinkerhoff Quade Douglas, and Cullen/Burr/Transystems.
