Chanen was the general contractor for the first modern terminal at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Terminal 2 featured a luxury coffee shop, branch bank, cocktail lounge, retail stores and automatic baggage-handling equipment. The facility, constructed using 152-ft. precast concrete tees, increased terminal space at Sky Harbor Airport by six times.
While Terminal 2 is set to be demolished in approximately 2009, it served the citizens of Arizona and millions of tourists for over 45 years with airline service by American Airlines and TWA.
